I
am from a small town in southeast Tennessee and still a country girl at
heart. I have been blessed with a wonderful husband of 40+ years, two
children and 4 granddaughters. I am a retired medical
transcriptionist, and love gardening, jewelry design, crafts and cooking. I live on 10 acres in rural East Tennessee and have gardened in the traditional row method
during that time, with a good bit of wide-row planting. I converted to Square Foot Gardening in 2010 and I will never go back to "regular" gardening again.
I grew up spending summers on my grandparents’ farm where they raised tobacco, had a small dairy and raised a huge garden to feed the family during the summer, canning & preserving for the winter months. It was hard work & I hated it then, but I am so thankful for my heritage as it instilled in me a strong work ethic and love of gardening.
